Bethesda is reportedly planning a media event for early March

Microsoft has already confirmed that Starfield won't be part of tonight's Xbox Developer Direct steam. Instead, the company will be focusing on titles like Redfall today. We may not be waiting long to get our next look at Starfield though, as Bethesda will reportedly host a media event in March.

According to sources speaking with Insider Gaming, Bethesda has begun planning a media event for early March. This follows on from Microsoft's confirmation this week that Starfield won't be at the Xbox Developer Direct, as the company is saving it for its own event.

We last saw Starfield at the Xbox showcase last Summer, with Bethesda giving us our first look at the massive universe they've created. We haven't seen new gameplay since and while the game is targeting a release in the first half of this year, a specific date has not yet been announced.

It is unclear at this time if Bethesda's upcoming media event will be a public stream or a private hands-on event for members of the media. If it is a hands-on event, then it may end up being Redfall-focused, giving press outlets a chance to publish previews ahead of the game's reported May release date.

KitGuru Says: If Starfield is still coming out in the first half of this year, then Microsoft should be thinking about ramping up its marketing efforts pretty soon. Even if this particular event isn't Starfield-related, we shouldn't be waiting long for more official information.
