Battlefield 2042 to get first new map in March 2022, dataminers suggest

Battlefield 2042 has been out for just over a month now, but players could be waiting quite some time for the first post-launch content to drop. According to information obtained by dataminers, the game's ‘first season' of content is currently planned for March 2022.

Previously, EA and DICE had said that content updates for Battlefield 2042 would begin in early 2022. According to dataminer, Temporyal, this content roadmap will include “12 preseason weeks”, which will include weekly challenges for players to complete. Then, in March 2022, the first new map will debut as part of Battlefield 2042's first official season of content.

The name of this new map appears to be “Exposure”, which was previously known as “Ridge” under its working title. The map features a Canadian-US research facility base, seemingly known as the Black Ridge facility, based in the Canadian rockies.

Battlefield 2042 launched back in November following a rocky beta. At launch, many issues remained, but DICE has released several patches so far, but the studio is currently taking a break for the holidays, with plans to continue updates in January.

KitGuru Says: It sounds like DICE will be kicking 2022 off with a lengthy pre-season, followed by a new map and season 1 content in March. Have many of you been playing Battlefield 2042 since launch? How do you feel about the long wait for the first new map?
