Battlefield 2042 open beta to take place in September

Earlier this month, Battlefield 2042 was officially announced, with DICE promising a beta ahead of the game's October release. Reportedly, the open beta will be taking place in September, giving anyone a chance to download and play the game ahead of release.

According to fan-site ‘Battlefield Bulletin‘, the Battlefield 2042 beta will begin on the 4th of September for pre-order customers. Then, the beta will open up to everyone, for free, on the 6th of September. The testing period will then come to an end on the 11th of September, at which point DICE will assess feedback and begin making last-minute balance changes and bug fixes ahead of the full release.

Battlefield 2042 is releasing on the 22nd of October, unless you're an EA Play subscriber. If you are a subscriber and pre-order the game, you will get access a full week early on the 15th of October.

During EA Play Live last week, Battlefield 2042 took to the stage once again, this time to debut a brand new game mode called ‘Portal', which will allow players to create their own custom matches with content from various games from the Battlefield series.
