Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on track for December release

Ubisoft has been working away on its Avatar game for years but the release date is now swiftly approaching. While December release dates for AAA games are often viewed as tenuous due to regular delays, it sounds like Ubisoft will in fact hit its planned release date for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

According to Insider Gaming, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora gameplay and impressions will finally go live next week. This follows a recent media event, in which invited guests were able to play the game for three hours, exploring the main mission and a few side quests.

Typically, these events take place a couple of months before a game's release, giving media the opportunity to sample the game ahead of sending out review copies closer to launch. With that in mind, this is a good sign that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will meet its release date, although the temptation to push into a quieter Q1 2024 period may still remain for Ubisoft executives.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a next-gen only game, releasing for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. The game is scheduled to launch on the 7th of December.

KitGuru Says: I do hope that this game turns out well but ultimately, it is an Ubisoft open-world game and with every open-world game the company puts out following a similar formula, it becomes increasingly difficult for developers to release something that truly stands out.
