Assassin’s Creed Shadows set for November launch, new trailer now live

Just as promised, today Ubisoft officially revealed Assassin's Creed Shadows with a lengthy cinematic trailer. As expected, the game is indeed set in Feudal Japan, and players will have a choice between two protagonist characters, one of which is Yasuke, the legendary African samurai. At the very end of the trailer, we also get official confirmation of the game's Q4 release date.

The trailer is purely cinematic, setting up the conflict within Japan. Players can take on the role of Naoe, an adept Shinobi from the Iga Province, or Yasuke, the powerful African samurai of historical legend.

The game is set during the late Sengoku period in Japanese history, as warring parties attempt to usher in a new age for Japan. We will get our first look at gameplay in June, and as Insider Gaming claims, there will be hands-on opportunities to play an early build of the game during Summer Games Fest, so we should see first impressions from journalists and content creators in June as well.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is due to launch for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on the 15th of November.

KitGuru Says: Will you be picking up this year's Assassin's Creed game? My only hope is that the scope of the open world is reigned in a bit, as both Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Valhalla became a bit of a slog to get through after the first dozen hours.
