Assassin’s Creed Red on track for 2024

For years, Assassin's Creed fans have been asking for a game set in Japan. Ubisoft is set to deliver exactly that with its upcoming project, codenamed Assassin's Creed Red. According to a developer working on the project, Assassin's Creed Red is planned to arrive in 2024.

While Ubisoft hasn't officially announced a release date, the LinkedIn profile of Ubisoft's business development and brand partnership lead does point to one. According to a post on their LinkedIn, Ubisoft is currently looking for a Japanese partner to help with launching “the biggest blockbuster of 2024”. It would seem that Ubisoft is going to try and put a little extra effort into its marketing in Japan with RED set to be set in Feudal Japan.

Assassin's Creed Codename Red is going to offer the “full Shinobi fantasy” Ubisoft said in its initial teaser announcement. Unfortunately, we have not yet seen any gameplay but if the game is on track to launch next year, we can expect to see plenty of it then.

Red is just one of potentially 11 Assassin's Creed games currently in development. Ubisoft has multiple projects in the works for what it calls Assassin's Creed Infinity, as well as new spin-offs and possibly even a remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

KitGuru Says: While I have my doubts that 11 new Assassin's Creed projects are a good idea, I do at least think Red will be good. If nothing else, it is going to offer long-time fans a setting they've wanted to explore in this universe for a very long time.
