AMD releases new driver with optimisations for Starfield

Months ago, AMD revealed itself as the official PC partner for Starfield. In keeping with that partnership, AMD has rolled out new Radeon graphics drivers with optimisations in place for the game's launch, promising up to 16 percent extra performance.

With AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.8.2, Radeon GPU users will get optimisations for Starfield. According to AMD, at 4K with the Radeon RX7900 XTX, the new driver delivers up to 16% more performance in Starfield compared to the old driver. The same performance increase applies to the RX 7900 XT as well. The rest of the RX 7000 line-up is not mentioned in the patch notes.

This latest driver also fixes a crashing issue with Baldur's Gate 3 while running the DX11 version of the game. There are some known issues though, as AMD warns that it is still working to resolve an intermittent driver timeout or visual corruption issue when Dynamic Resolution is set between 75% and 78% in Starfield.
