Amazon and Sony in talks to produce live action God of War series

Following on from the box office success of Uncharted, Sony's PlayStation Productions is starting to look at giving the cross-media treatment to other franchises. Aside from The Last of Us and Twisted Metal, Sony is also in talks to produce a live-action TV series based on God of War.

According to Deadline, Sony is in talks with Amazon to produce the God of War series, with help from Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, who created The Expanse, as well as showruner, Rafe Judkins, who recently worked on Amazon's Wheel of Time series. PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures Television would also be attached to the project for consulting and producer duties.

PlayStation Productions is expanding into many areas at the moment. The group has already teamed up with HBO to produce a live-action series based on The Last of Us, and a Twisted Metal series is also said to in the works. Recently, PlayStation Productions released Uncharted, starring Tom Holland, which ended up being a box office success.

Amazon has also been looking to produce more adaptations of books and video games recently. Currently, Amazon is also said to be in talks to produce a Mass Effect series, and the company has also teamed up with Bethesda for a show based on the Fallout IP.
