Alan Wake 2 gameplay trailer revealed at PlayStation Showcase

Earlier this month, the voice actor for Alan Wake revealed that Remedy was planning to release the game in October. Today during the PlayStation Showcase, the first gameplay trailer for Alan Wake 2 officially dropped, confirming the October launch. 

Alan Wake 2 was first announced at The Game Awards in 2021 with a small cinematic trailer. Today's trailer is much more substantial, introducing us to a new playable character and giving us a small glimpse into the events of the game:

Judging by what was shown, the gameplay may not have evolved much since the original Alan Wake, but it is also entirely possible that Remedy is saving some surprises for later reveals. Story telling on the other hand does seem to have improved considerably.

Alan Wake 2 will be released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on the 17th of October.
