32 Indie developers sign up for ID@Xbox self pub program

The Xbox One has been out for a couple of weeks now meaning that players and Indie developers alike have the console in their hands. One of the things Microsoft did to try and win gamers over was announce its self publishing program for Indie developers and today, Chris Charla, Director of the ID@Xbox program has announced the first 32 developers to sign on.

You'll recognise a few of these names I'm sure. Comcept is the studio behind Mighty No.9, Team 17 did Worms while Half-Brick did Jetpack Joyride. Double Eleven is another worthy mention, since it was in charge of the Little Big Planet PSVita port.  However, the biggest name on the list is Crytek; if you don't know what Crytek's done then firstly: where have you been? And secondly, it's the studio behind Crysis and the PC crippling Cryengine, as well as the pretty quick time fest, Ryse Son of Rome.

Obviously this list doesn't guarantee that every one of these studios will self publish an Xbox One game but the Xbox Wire post did confirm three games: Demiurge's Shoot Many Robots franchise, Iron Galaxy's Divekick and Happion Labs' Energy Hook.

KitGuru Says: Indie games have really begun to thrive recently and it seems a lot more people are paying attention to them and giving them a go, it's good to see the amount of support these studios are starting to get. What Indie games would you guys like to see come to console?
