Yo dawg, I heard you like Mortal Kombat and Doom

Remember when you played Day of the Tentacle and it let you play Maniac Mansion, inside DotT? Well this is a bit like that, except it's two guys playing Mortal Kombat in a Doom multiplayer map. It's pretty fully featured too, with character select, authentic sounds, original visuals and no obvious lag or problems.

As it stands, the mod is 50 per cent completed, with still plenty more to add, including Fatalities, but as it stands, it looks pretty playable. We see the players wander up to the arcade cabinet and boot up Mortal Kombat II (the SNES version), select their characters and begin duking it out. In Mortal Kombat. In Doom. The game within a game is shown off in the above video, published by the mod's creator, Cristian Fabian Munoz Isla, who announced along with the release that the new addition in this version of the beta was Shang Tsung's transformations.

KitGuru Says: Pretty impressive stuff. I actually wouldn't mind playing a game that was a virtual arcade, where you wander round and use cabinets like this to play against other people there. Granted you'd need a little more than just MKII to keep you occupied though. [Thanks for the heads up Dsogaming]
