Xbox Game Pass £1 trial returns

Microsoft has reintroduced its popular $1/£1 introductory offer for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscriptions. This offer allows new subscribers to enjoy their first month of service at a greatly discounted price. However, it is important to note that this deal is not available for Game Pass for consoles.

Microsoft offered this promotional deal for several years before discontinuing it in March. During that time, the company stated that it would be evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future. Now, the $1 offer has made a comeback.

Alongside the increase in Game Pass' pricing and the trial, Xbox has also “fixed the bug” that allows people to buy Xbox Live Gold and convert it to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with a 1:1 ratio, according to Tom Warren. Still, Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass (console) subscribers can take advantage of the trial offer to upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and transfer their remaining prepaid membership time at the current conversion ratio (you can check it here), up to a maximum of 36 months.

The reintroduction of the $1 offer follows Microsoft's recent decision to raise Game Pass prices in most markets. Since July 6th, the monthly price of an Xbox Game Pass subscription has increased from $9.99 to $10.99 / £7.99 to £8.99 / €9.99 to €10.99. Similarly, the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate went up from $14.99 to $16.99 / £10.99 to £12.99 / €12.99 to €14.99. Fortunately, PC Game Pass pricing didn’t change, as it remains at $9.99 / £7.99 / €9.99 per month.
