Ubisoft will host its own event instead of attending E3 2023

A few months ago, Ubisoft confirmed it would be attending E3, becoming the first major publisher to be present at the event. Those plans have changed, however, as the company stated that it intends to hold its own event in June instead of holding its presentation as part of E3.

Ubisoft made the statement to VGC, saying they'll “move in a different direction”. As such, the publisher is holding its own Ubisoft Forward Live event on June 12th in Los Angeles. The spokesperson promised more details about the event will be shared soon. ReedPop, the media and events company behind PAX, EGX Star Wars Celebration and now E3, has yet to make a statement regarding Ubisoft dropping out of the event.

With E3 returning to its physical format after four years of digital conferences, many were expecting things would get back to normal. However, that clearly won't be the case, as all major gaming companies that used to attend E3 have seemingly decided to skip it this year. We're just three months from the event, and there's currently no major gaming company to have confirmed its presence.

E3 2023 will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event begins on June 13th, with the first two days being reserved for companies. In the following days, general consumers will also be able to attend the event.

KitGuru says: With Ubisoft out of the picture for this year's E3, we wonder what presentations will be left to watch at the conference. PCGamer and Devolver, which have been present in the last few E3s, are expected to be present, so at least there's that.
