The Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters reportedly heading to consoles

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series has been available for some time, but only on PC and mobile platforms. However, that may soon change, as ESRB has recently rated the remasters for PlayStation and Switch consoles.

The ESRB listing found by VGC suggests the series will arrive on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch soon, but we're still unsure exactly when. With the Final Fantasy series celebrating its 35th anniversary on December 18th, we wouldn't be surprised if Square Enix decided to make an official announcement on this occasion.

The Final Fantasy I, II and III Pixel Remasters were the first to launch in July 2021. After that, the publisher gradually released Final Fantasy IV, V and VI. The first three games received good critics scores, with average scores surrounding 75-78 points out of 100. The remaining three were even better received by reviewers, with scores averaging 84-86 points.

For the Steam release, Square Enix offered a bundle with all six Final Fantasy games at a lower price, but each individual game can also be bought separately. Presumably, there will be a similar bundle offering on Switch and PlayStation.
