Steam reveals the best-selling and most-played PC games of 2023

Steam has recently released its “Best of 2023” list, which compiles the best-selling and most-played games on the platform. The list of highest earners this year is quite varied. Despite Destiny 2 losing a lot of players this year, the game still ranks in the top 12 earners on Steam. Cyberpunk 2077 also makes an appearance, something that CD Projekt Red has to be happy with after the years of extra work they put into the game. 

Top sellers, best-selling new releases, most-played games on PC, most-played games on Steam Deck, highest-grossing early access games, most-played with a gamepad, and best-selling VR titles are among the categories. It's a nice glimpse of the games Steam users played the most this year, and it serves as a reminder that titles that seem to be on the decline still have a lot of active players.

It's worth noting that Steam did not score the games in each category but instead examined data from January 1st, 2023, to December 15th, 2023, to make the list. The lists are ordered randomly, as Valve didn't share exact figures. The full lists are available here, but we've organised the Platinum-ranked titles below:
