Netflix Cloud Gaming Beta app is now available on more devices

Since the addition of mobile games to Netflix in 2021, the company's aim has been to provide games for everyone on any device – including televisions and desktops. Up until now, Netflix Games was only accessible on mobile platforms, but the range of supported devices will soon grow considerably as Netflix launches the Netflix Cloud Gaming Beta app for TVs, PCs, and Macs.

Netflix has begun to roll out a restricted beta test to a small number of subscribers in Canada and the UK on selected TVs. The PC and Mac beta testing will be accessible via Netflix.com on compatible browsers in the coming weeks.

This first test will include Oxenfree and Molehew's Mining Adventure. To play the games, the idea is to use your phone as a controller. Alternately, those using PCs and Macs may use a keyboard and mouse to play on Netflix.com.

The main purpose of this restricted beta is to test the game streaming technology behind the service and how phones work as controllers. The first devices supporting the Netflix Cloud Gaming Beta app include Amazon Fire TV Streaming Media Players, Chromecast with Google TV, LG TVs, Nvidia Shield TV, Roku devices and TVs, Samsung Smart TVs, and Walmart ONN. More gadgets will be added in the future.
