Lords of the Fallen has sold 1 million copies so far

The Souls-like Lords of the Fallen has already sold over one million copies in its first 10 days on the market. Considering the mild reception it got, that's quite an achievement.

The milestone was shared on social media and via a press release, which was accompanied by a “thank you” message. Surprisingly enough, Lords of the Fallen was faster to hit the 1 million mark than Lies of P, which was generally better received than the Hexworks Souls-like title.

Despite strong sales, the game did not get a warm welcome, sitting at a 73 OpenCritic score (59% recommended) and a “mixed” rating on Steam (58%). On top of the performance issues and bugs, many reviewers were quick to point out how unfair the game is thanks to its difficulty spikes and player invasions.

Fortunately, the developer has been working on some of these issues, with new patches coming almost daily. The latest update re-enabled cross-platform play, while a patch due out on Thursday will bring PC support. Critically, the next patch will improve adversary density, one of the issues many reviewers have been pointing out to make the game more frustrating than it should be.
