Intel launches free open-source AI Playground tool

Intel has recently introduced the AI Playground, a new generative AI tool designed for Arc GPU and Core Ultra users. This free, open-source Windows software allows users to create images and text based on various LLMs, which can then be manually tuned to refine the results.

The tool is user-friendly and informative, offering clear explanations even for novices. It streamlines model downloads and supports add-on models, with Intel offering instructional videos to guide users through the process. The AI Playground uses Stable Diffusion 1.5 and SDXL for generative AI, but users can download alternative models. Models can be manually tuned for enhanced results.

With an installation size of 700MB, the program's footprint expands significantly as additional models are added. Intel has unveiled plans for the AI Playground to run on Core Ultra-H CPUs with Arc iGPUs, including the Core Ultra 100H series with integrated Alchemist-based graphics. Although support for Core Ultra 200V CPUs featuring the Xe2-LPG architecture is expected.

While various generative AI tools already run on Intel processors, AI Playground is slightly different, running on discrete Arc GPUs and Core Ultra's integrated graphics. You can download Intel AI Playground HERE.
