Homeworld is coming to VR this year

FarBridge and Gearbox Entertainment have partnered to present Homeworld: Vast Reaches, a new instalment in the Homeworld franchise that reimagines strategic space combat for Virtual and Mixed Reality.

In the Homeworld PC games, players assume the role of Fleet Command, a human commander in charge of a fleet of spacecraft. In Homeworld: Vast Reaches, players will engage in the same role in intense battles against a new and mysterious enemy. The Homeworld franchise is also known for its fully three-dimensional battle scenarios and deep-space settings. Homeworld: Vast Reaches takes it further, offering immersive 3D battles that can be scaled to fit the player's environment, from a room-sized engagement to a tabletop skirmish.

FarBridge, the game's developer and publisher, was founded in 2017 by industry veterans from the gaming and film industries to transport players to unique virtual worlds. Homeworld: Vast Reaches is the result of a collaboration between FarBridge and Gearbox Entertainment, bringing this franchise to players in a completely new way. FarBridge will oversee development and publishing, working closely with Gearbox Entertainment to ensure the game's narrative, characters, and mythology remain faithful to the franchise.

Homeworld: Vast Reaches will be available on the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 headsets later this year. Players can now add the game to their wishlists on the Meta Store.
