Hellgate creator returns with new game Hellgate: Redemption

Hellgate: London is a dark fantasy action RPG known for being ahead of its time. It featured rogue-like, looter-shooter, and MMO elements before they were popular. Unfortunately, the game's developer, Flagship Studios, went out of business, and it was re-released several times, with one expansion taking place in Tokyo instead of London. However, it seems the creator hasn't abandoned the franchise yet, as he plans to launch a new game in the same universe.

The game's original creator, Bill Roper, is now working on a new Hellgate game with his new company, Lunacy Games. This new game, Hellgate: Redemption, is being developed with Korean publisher HanbitSoft.

Roper has promised that the game will maintain the core gameplay and lore elements of the original Hellgate while also incorporating new ones. So, expect tonnes of loot, random or procedurally generated levels, and a lot of demon shooting.

The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and is set in a yet-to-be-disclosed part of this demon-filled universe.
