DLSS 3.7 brings new image quality improvements

Nvidia's DLSS has been a game-changer for the last five years, boosting framerates on RTX-based systems with minimal image quality loss. With each update, DLSS continues improving, and the recent DLSS 3.7 upgrade is no exception.

While previous DLSS updates have introduced features such as Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction, DLSS 3.7 has a new setting that promises to improve upscaling performance significantly. This new setting is now the default option for titles that use DLSS 3.7.0, and it's generally referred to as preset E (Eager Donkey).

DLSS 3.7 improves on earlier versions by providing considerably clearer visuals, enhanced detail stability, less ghosting, and overall better temporal stability than DLSS 3.5. In the YouTube video above, you can see a comparison between DLSS 3.5.10, DLSS 3.6.0, and the most recent version, DLSS 3.7.0. Additionally, several Reddit users noted a considerable change in Horizon Forbidden West at 1440p.

Some Reddit users also claim that the new DLSS version boosts the framerates on several games, but it's hard to be sure without proper testing. It's important to note that some games may not work as well with DLSS 3.7, and in some cases, it can even cause issues like performance degradation or crashes. Therefore, it's best to wait for official developer involvement and take caution before experimenting with this upgrade (which can be done using DLSS Swapper and DLSS Tweaks). While it's unclear when we can expect DLSS 3.7.0 in games, you can download the most recent DLSS and Frame Generation versions from Github to try out for yourself.
