Diablo IV is free to play until January 3rd, and you can play with the expansion’s Spiritborn class

Blizzard is unleashing the hordes of hell for free this holiday season with a Diablo 4 trial that grants access to the full base game, including the recently released Spiritborn class from the Vessel of Hatred expansion.

Until January 3rd, 2025, you can dive into the dark world of Sanctuary without spending a dime. Download the trial from the PlayStation Store, Xbox app, or Battle.net (Blizzard's PC launcher) if you wish to play the game for a limited time.

The trial offers unrestricted access to Diablo 4's base game, allowing you to explore all classes, level up your character, and gear it up. While you could theoretically blitz through the campaign and dabble in the seasonal content, Diablo 4 is best enjoyed more leisurely, savoring the atmosphere and the loot-driven exploration. Blizzard hasn't clarified whether your progress from the trial will carry over to the full game if you decide to purchase it. However, it's important to note that while the Spiritborn class is accessible in the trial, the Vessel of Hatred expansion is required to unlock it in the full game.

Steam isn't included in the free trial campaign, although the platform offers a 40% discount on Diablo 4 during the trial period. The Diablo 4 and Vessel of Hatred bundle is also discounted on Steam, but “only” 35%. The expansion alone is also on sale, but only with a 25% discount.

KitGuru says: Have you already tried Diablo IV? Will you take advantage of this trial to try the game?
