Baldur’s Gate 3 and Marvel’s Spider Man 2 are the big winners at the 27th D.I.C.E. Awards

The 27th edition of the D.I.C.E. Awards winners have been announced, recognising the most exceptional video games released in 2023. Among the many winners, Baldur's Gate 3 stood out by winning Game of the Year, Best Role-Playing Game, and Outstanding Achievement awards in the Story, Game Direction, and Game Design categories. 

Although Marvel's Spider-Man 2 did not win the Game of the Year award, it still took home six honours, including Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Character, Original Music Composition, Audio Design, and Technical Achievement. While no other game received multiple awards, some notable winners include Alan Wake 2 for Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Adventure Game of the Year, Super Mario Bros. Wonder for Family Game of the Year, and Street Fighter 6 for Fighting Game of the Year.

Additionally, the legendary Nintendo composer and sound director, Koji Kondo, was inducted into the D.I.C.E. Hall of Fame for his contributions to the original Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
