Avalanche recommends an RX 7900 XT to play Hogwarts Legacy at 4K/Ultra

We're just less than a month from the launch of Hogwarts Legacy, and Avalanche has now released the PC system requirements. Overall, the game looks pretty heavy, even by today's standards – we're talking GTX 1080 Ti or RX 5700-level performance, just to hit 1080p/60FPS using High settings.

Hogwarts Legacy is generating a lot of hype among the Harry Potter fanbase. Based on the trailers alone, the game could well be the game that Harry Potter fans have been wanting for years. As an open-world RPG, players will be taken to Hogwarts and other familiar places in the wizarding world, where they will master mighty spells and combat skills and gather companions to help them on their journey.

Visually, from what we've seen so far the game looks stunning, and it appears that visual quality is matched by the need for a powerful system to play at max settings. Avalanche Software has divided the system requirements into four performance targets:

Minimum (720p, 30FPS, Low Quality settings)

• OS: 64-bit Windows 10
• CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 (3.3 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 1400
• RAM: 16GB
• GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 GB or AMD Radeon RX 470 4GB
• DirectX Version: DX 12
• Storage 85 GB HDD

Recommended (1080p, 60FPS, High Quality settings)

• OS: 64-bit Windows 10
• CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 (3.2 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
• RAM: 16GB
• GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 5700 or Intel Arc A770
• DirectX Version: DX 12
• Storage 85 GB SSD

Ultra (1440p, 60FPS, Ultra Quality settings)

• OS: 64-bit Windows 10
• CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K (3.80 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 5800X
• RAM: 32GB
• GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
• DirectX Version: DX 12
• Storage 85 GB SSD

Ultra 4K (4K, 60FPS, Ultra Quality settings)

• OS: 64-bit Windows 10
• CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K (3.80 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 5800X
• RAM: 32GB
• GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT
• DirectX Version: DX 12
• Storage 85 GB SSD

Hogwarts Legacy will release for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on February 10th, 2023. The game will also launch for PS4 and Xbox One on April 4th and for Nintendo Switch on July 25th.
