AMD RDNA 3 GPUs support Vulkan 1.3

Vulkan 1.3 is the latest major version of the compute and graphics API. As such, it has been receiving support for all the graphics cards launched between its release and now. Currently, it supports all graphics cards on the market from AMD, Nvidia and Intel, but it's also ready for upcoming GPUs too, including AMD's upcoming RDNA 3 graphics cards.

As spotted by VideoCardz, the Khronos group added RDNA 3 GPUs to the list on October 13th. Although it's not mentioned, we assume this refers to the upcoming Radeon RX 7000 series cards that AMD will announce in November.

Based on the Vulkan 1.3 conformant product list, RDNA 3 GPUs only support the API if installed on Ubuntu- or Windows 10-based systems. As of now, there's no mention of supporting Windows 11, but it shouldn't take long for that to be straightened out.

AMD scheduled an event for November 3rd to announce its next generation of RDNA-based graphics cards. As per the latest rumours, the company will announce the Navi 31-powered Radeon RX 7900 XTX (flagship) and RX 7900 XT cards.

KitGuru says: During the event, AMD should mention what other APIs the graphics cards will support. Considering the Radeon RX 6000 series supports DX12 Ultimate, this is another API that the new generation of AMD GPUs will certainly be capable of handling.
