Sony reveals its PlayStation Experience 2017 line-up

Although Sony has revealed quite a lot of exclusives throughout 2017, padded out through events such as E3 and its Paris Games Week, it has one more event to close out the year. PlayStation Experience 2017 lands on December 9th, and Sony has announced its full line-up of what to expect.

While there’s nothing big to expect during PlayStation Experience as the heavy hitters like God of War, Insomniac’s Spider-Man, Days Gone and many more have already seen in-depth showcases, it does have “a few stocking stuffers” in time for the holiday period.

Of course, PlayStation Experience will be preceded by festivities and opening parties of all kinds, but the main event kicks off at 7pm in the UK and 8pm throughout Central Europe on the 9th December with PlayStation’s VR game panel. This is something that Sony has invested heavily into over the past year, however the event will see “a candid conversation between two legends as they discuss developing their new PS VR title and lessons from VR development.”

Following that is Media Molecule’s Dreams presented by Siobhan Reddy, Mark Healey and Alex Evans at 8:30pm GMT/9:30pm CET. This is a title that hasn’t seen much coverage over the past year, so it will be interesting to see how far the team has come along.

At 11:30pm GMT Saturday 9th/12:30am CET Sunday 10th, is Sucker Punch’s new title Ghost of Tsushima, which originally debuted at PlayStation’s Paris Games Week. The developers will go into detail on the making of the game, inspirations and concept art as well as the trips taken to Japan to truly encapsulate authenticity.

Naughty Dog takes the stage at 1:00am GMT/2:00am CET on Sunday 10th, bringing the cast and crew of its renown titles Uncharted and The Last of Us Part II to the forefront. Uncharted’s Nolan North, Emily Rose, Troy Baker, Richard McGonagle, Laura Baily and many more will share their memories in light of the series 10th anniversary.

Continuing on with its panel, The Last of Us Part 2 writer-director Neil Druckmann and co-writer Halley Gross discuss the making of the controversial Paris Games Week reveal of its trailer along with prominent cast members.

Tune into the livestream on December 9th to see just what PlayStation Experience has in store.

KitGuru Says: It seems that there is a lot to be excited for even if it is lacking any new reveals on the upfront schedule. Then again, it is possible Sony is holding something back, but I wouldn’t hold my breath for something unexpected. What are you most looking forward to?
