Asus Republic Of Gamers Tytan CG8580 System Review (i7/GTX680)

The Asus Republic Of Gamers Tytan CG8580 System arrives in a large, heavy box, featuring the ROG logo and colour scheme.

When we open the outer box, a peripheral box rests on top of the main system.

Asus supply a excellent keyboard and mouse, along with some literature on the product. There is also a WiFi antenna, a power cable and extra orange coloured ‘gaming' keys if you wish to replace them on the keyboard.

The keyboard is significantly better than most of the ‘free' keyboards supplied with these systems. There is plenty of tactile feedback and while not up to the same grade as a Razer BlackWidow ultimate, it is an excellent unit. There are height adjustable feet on the back of the keyboard.

The mouse matches the system perfectly and again, this is significantly better than the majority of mice bundled with a system. Due to the substantial size, it is certainly suited to those people with bigger hands.

The Tytan CG8580 is shipped protected between two flexible, thick blocks on the top and bottom side. Surprisingly there is no plastic or felt cover between the case and the foam.

  1. wow absolutely amazing, i love the shape of this. nice internals, no ideas on cost? id reckon 2k.

  2. Its designed like their laptops., which I like, altholugh I read a lot of horror stories based on the drivers for the laptops and problems., with them.

  3. This is a very nice system, although it will be priced very high for most people I would imagine.

  4. That front panel looks like it might break. My brother breaks everything so I would imagine people would need to be careful with this. it is pivoting on a spring?
