Xbox first-party title ‘State of Decay 2’ is coming to Steam

It appears that as time goes on, Microsoft is choosing to support the PC platform more and more. Another first party Xbox One exclusive, State of Decay 2, is coming to Steam. The game is slated to arrive in early 2020. Like other Xbox titles published elsewhere, the game will require an Xbox Live account.

State of decay 2 released back in May of 2018 for both Xbox One, and PC, but only on the Microsoft store. The game was developed by Undead Labs, and is a part of Xbox Game Studios. The game received mixed reviews upon its release, but was continually updated with new content

It appears that more news might be incoming for the co-op open world survival zombie game, as Undead Labs told fans to “Keep your eyes peeled and your weapons ready, and don't forget to Follow this page, because there are some wild surprises in the coming months. This is one apocalypse you won't want to miss”. What this means is currently unknown, but expect more announcements to be made regarding the game in due course.

The Steam page lists its release date as the 31st of March, although that is most likely a placeholder release date, as the last day of March is the end of the fiscal year. Expect the game to release in the first quarter of 2020 however.

WIth Microsoft continually adding its back catalogue to Steam, there may come a time when Xbox games release day-and-date with the platform. Time will tell whether Microsoft will choose to fully embrace Steam.
