Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is finally coming to Steam

After spending years away from the platform, Activision finally announced that it would bring all future published titles to Steam. This began with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II late last year and since then we have seen a number of missing Activision titles added to the platform. Finally, the much-loved Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is coming to Steam next week.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official THPS account said “This. Is. Epic. Drop in to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 on Steam, October 3. Add it to your Wishlist.”

Currently, there is no price listed for the game, however Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 can be had for £19.99 right now on the Epic Games Store (typically £39.99) and so it will be interesting to see what price the game ends up being listed for – especially as the remake is now well over 3 years old.

For the uninitiated, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is a remake of the PlayStation 1 classics, fully rebuilt from the ground-up. Upon its release, the game was praised across the board with consistently high scores from both critics and fans alike.

With Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 finally making its way to Steam, hopefully Activision sees enough interest in the game to warrant more remakes of the series’ later entries – in particular the PS2 titles such as Pro Skater 3 and Underground.

That said, considering the fact that the studio behind the excellent remake (Vicarious Visions) was folded into Blizzard and renamed to ‘Blizzard Albany’ back in 2022 the chances seem unfortunately somewhat slim – especially since the team were reportedly working on remakes for THPS 3 and 4 prior to the merger.
