Steam releases its own personalised annual rewind feature

Over the past few years, we have seen an increasing number of services offer a personalised end-of-year review including the likes of PlayStation, Xbox and Spotify. Quite excitingly, Steam has now released its own ‘Steam Replay’ for the first time, letting you take an in-depth and nitty gritty look back at your past year of gaming.

Available to view HERE, the 2022 Steam Replay offers an interesting look at not only your own gaming trends but how it compares to others. While you expectantly are told which games you played the most, Steam Replay tells you when you first started each game; how many separate sessions you played; the percentage of time spent on the game and even how many days in a row you played it.

Though perhaps somewhat late to the party with this recap, Valve seems to be offering a lot of interesting stats not previously available to users, including the percentage ratio of how often you played with keyboard and mouse vs controller – a fascinating statistic indeed.

One of the most interesting stats released shows how your playing habits differ from others. According to Valve, the average Steam user plays just 5 games over the course of an entire year. Similarly, in 2022 on average each Steam user picked up just 21 achievements.

Of course, these are just a few of the MANY stats and breakdowns available as part of the Steam Replay. It is always fascinating to see such detailed statistics, and so it is exciting to see Steam finally joining the fray – and doing so in an in-depth manner.
