Star Wars: Outlaws includes secret graphics overdrive mode

Last year, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment released Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to a relatively warm reception. That said, one aspect of the game which was praised was its inclusion of a secret graphics overdrive mode – future-proofing the title while giving those with beastly PCs the opportunity to check out the best that ray-tracing has to offer right now. Just as was the case with Avatar, the upcoming Star Wars: Outlaws also features a secret ‘maxsettings’ toggle.

With Star Wars: Outlaws available now for those who paid extra for a couple days of advanced access, fans have begun to dig into the game’s options.

As discovered by Reddit user ‘Spoggi99’, Massive Entertainment have included a secret ‘Outlaw’ graphics mode on PC – available by adding ‘unlockmaxsettings’ to the game’s start parameter.

While we will have to wait for additional specifics on what this Outlaw mode adds, the aforementioned Avatar: Frontier of Pandora’s ‘Unobtanium’ graphics option introduced “settings beyond ultra, with better quality ray tracing, shadow and reflection resolution, and more”. Given the fact that Star Wars: Outlaws is developed by the same team using the same Snowdrop engine, expect results to be somewhat similar.

These secret graphics settings have so far been highly appreciated, and so hopefully more developers follow suit.
