Spider-Man 2 comes to PC early next year

Sony has been slowly but surely accelerating how quickly they bring their PlayStation 5 console exclusives to PC, with the likes of God of War Ragnarök arriving just under two years from its initial release. The next game coming to the platform is Spider-Man 2 – set to drop onto Steam and Epic this upcoming January.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, Aaron Jason Espinoza – the Senior Community Manager at Insomniac Games – said: “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is officially coming to PC! Announced on Marvel’s stage at New York Comic Con today, our latest entry in the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise arrives on PC January 30, 2025 via Steam and the Epic Games Store – wishlist now.”

As with many of PlayStation’s ports, Spider-Man 2 is being worked on by the specialists over at Nixxes, with the studio stating “We are excited to continue this collaboration and bring Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to PC with a suite of enhanced features, including enhanced ray-tracing options, to take full advantage of a variety of setups and configurations. Stay tuned for more details on features and recommended specs closer to launch.”

More complete details on exactly what improvements the PC version will bring have not yet been shared, though at the very least, based on the statement above, it’s safe to say that the Spider-Man 2 port will offer the ability to increase the resolution of its ray-tracing effects – alongside typical enhancements such as ultra-wide support and higher framerates.

Recently it was confirmed that Spider-Man will not be getting any post-launch DLC, and so you’ll be able to experience the full story of Peter Parker and Miles Morales when Spider-Man 2 comes to PC on the 30th of January.
