Naughty Dog promises further PC support “moving forward”

After a great deal of anticipation, The Last of Us Part 1 is finally available on PC, representing the first time that the award-winning and universally-praised franchise has been made available on the platform. As exciting as this is, even more noteworthy is the fact that Naughty Dog have promised to continue supporting the PC platform “moving forward.”

With The Last of Us Part 1 now officially available on PC, Naughty Dog took to their blog to detail the many considerations made when creating this port, saying “As developers, we must ensure the experience is authentic across platforms while addressing the reality of differing hardware, even if we must reconsider fundamental aspects of a game.”

The blog post concluded with a look into the future, with Naughty Dog confirming that support for PC with TLOU Part 1 is just the beginning, saying “So, where will the next Naughty Dog development adventure take us? Rest assured, PlayStation and PC players, we’re already looking forward to sharing more, whether you prefer a DualSense controller or a keyboard and mouse.”

They continued, “Developing for both platforms empowers us to incorporate lessons learned from either into the overall design of our games. Sharing our stories and experiences on PS5 as well as PC is something that Naughty Dog has embraced and will continue to support moving forward.”

Of course, the team did not share any specifics, but it is safe to assume that at some point The Last of Us Part II will find its way onto PC (and hopefully PS5). Furthermore, the team is currently hard at work on their live-service multiplayer TLOU Factions game.

PlayStation’s Head Hermen Hulst previously claimed that all upcoming Sony live-service titles will also launch day-one on PC, meaning that TLOU Part 1 coming to PC is only the beginning.
