MWII PC sales double that of previous Call of Duty titles

Since its release on the 28th of October, Call of Duty Modern Warfare II has continued to break records all over the place, with us having previously reported that the first-person shooter not only managed to achieve the biggest launch in PlayStation Store history, but also in the history of the franchise itself too, managing to make over $1 Billion in just 10 days. Now, the team has revealed just how much bigger MWII is on PC when compared to previous entries.

As reported on by the Call of Duty-focused CharlieINTEL, Activision revealed that “[MWII] Sales have been robust across all platforms, including on PC, where unit sell-through to date is approximately twice the level of recent strong titles in the series.”

That is not all, however, as according to the publisher “Modern Warfare II has set new franchise engagement records for a premium Call of Duty release, with hours played in the first 10 days more than 40% above the prior franchise record.”

This is especially impressive when considering the fact that Modern Warfare II has yet to see its first Season go live, meaning player engagement is likely to only increase from here on out – once Season 1 arrives on the 16th of November.

KitGuru Games: The Genius Casting of Kaitlyn Dever in HBO’s The Last of Us

Following an explosive and highly popular first series, HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 is almost upon us. Set to premiere on the 13th of April, the sequel season based on Naughty Dog’s controversial Part II is likely to spark up even more discourse than the first. Unlike 2020’s masterpiece however, HBO’s adaptation has made one key decision which – if handled well – could not only serve to build upon the theming of the game itself, but also function as a different way to tell the same message. That being the casting of Kaitlyn Dever as Abby.
