Monster Hunter Wilds beta sees nearly half a million concurrent Steam players

Following its explosive popularity in the wake of 2017’s Monster Hunter World, hype for the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds has been at an all-time high. With the open beta for the upcoming RPG live right now, we can see just how excited fans are for next year’s release – seeing almost half a million concurrent players on Steam.

With a peak CCU of 463,798 players, the Monster Hunter Wilds beta has beaten out both World (334,684) and Rise’s (231,360) official launch figures when it comes to peak player counts.

Of course, as it is a beta (compared to the other games’ full-releases), the comparison isn’t quite apples-to-apples.

Monster Hunter: Wilds million

Still though, the sheer number of players looking forward to Monster Hunter Wilds indicates that when it does officially arrive on the 23rd of February it will likely break at least a couple records for Capcom.

Given the fact that 2017’s Monster Hunter World has sold over 25 million copies since its release, it’s safe to say that the success of Wilds is about to be ‘wild’.
