Killing Floor 2 is free on the Epic Games Store

Each week, the Epic Games Store offers a number of games for free to all those with an Epic Games account. From now until the 14th of July, you can get your hands on the RPG card battler ‘Ancient Enemy’, as well as the co-op first-person zombie shooter Killing Floor 2.

Ancient Enemy is an “RPG card battler set in a crumbling world where the forces of evil have already won. Blast distorted enemies with a satisfying range of spells and abilities. Journey into a scarred wilderness and defeat the deadliest foe of all!”

As RPGs have become one of the most prevalent genres in gaming and have become highly standardised and sanitised, it is nice to see a game which tries to play with the formula slightly – especially one which ends up being good.

The headlining title for this week is Killing Floor 2, a co-op first person level-based zombie survival shooter in which “players descend into continental Europe after it has been overrun by horrific, murderous clones called Zeds that were created by rogue elements of the Horzine Corporation.”

Killing Floor 2 was well-received at launch, and has only improved over time with dozens of free content updates over the course of the past many years since its release in 2016.

Epic Games also revealed next week’s free titles: Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms and Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap. Killing Floor 2 and Ancient Enemy can be added to your library for free HERE.
