Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is coming to Steam

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is a mobile-focused compilation of the classic Final Fantasy VII alongside its many spin-offs (Advent Children; Before Crisis; Crisis Core and more). Having officially launched on the 7th of September for Android and iOS, the free-to-play game has already amassed a great deal of downloads, surpassing 3 million players in its first 48 hours. For those who prefer to game on PC however, Ever Crisis has now been announced to be coming to Steam.

First revealed during a stream focused on Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, the team at Square Enix announced that the free-to-play mobile title is planned to also come to PCs via Steam in the future, with them taking to Twitter to say:

“We are actively developing a Steam version so that you can enjoy #FF7EC [Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis] on PC! You can also share the data you play on the mobile version with the Steam version, so stay tuned for more information!”

Considering the fact that Ever Crisis brings together all the various FFVII spin-offs (non-gaming included) into one singular package, it being limited to mobile devices was somewhat of a disservice to fans of the franchise.

As such, it is exciting to see that the game is coming to the PC platform (and Steam in particular) at some point in the future. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long – but even if it does, at least your save data will be transferred over from iOS/Android.
