Fallout London release appears imminent as devs give progress update

Fallout London is one of the most anticipated mods ever created for a Bethesda Game Studios title, with the DLC-sized mod bringing the entirety of London to the Fallout universe. Initially planned to release back in April, the surprise Fallout 4 next-gen update threw a spanner into the works, with no follow-up release date announced. It seems the team have finally worked through the changes brought about with the most recent update, as Fallout London now appears to be releasing imminently.

Making the announcement on Reddit, the official Fallout London Team ‘FOLON’ stated the following: “There has been a lot of speculation regarding our upcoming release, and we wanted to open up and clear the air for our core supporters. The bottom line is that we've sent several builds over to GOG for QA testing and are waiting for the final green light.”

Discussing their next steps, the team continued, “Once they've completed the process of double-checking that Fallout: London and its installer work on all supported machines, we should be good to go. (Yes, we have our own installer, and downgrader too!)”

They then concluded by saying “While it may seem like not a lot is going on, we can assure you that the heads of the department have been working non-stop behind the scenes during this time to make the release build as good as it can be. The end is in sight. Stay safe and remember. Mind the gap.”

Fallout London is in many ways more exciting than the aforementioned next-gen patch released by Bethesda, and so the delay was an unfortunate victim of poor timing. Luckily, it seems as though we might finally be able to explore the streets of post-apocalyptic London soon enough.
