Dying Light: Enhanced Edition will be free on the Epic Games Store

2015’s Dying Light served as a spiritual successor to Techland’s zombie slaying series ‘Dead Island’ – going on to surpass its predecessor with over 20 million copies sold. Following the successful release of its sequel Dying Light 2, Techland has now revealed that the first entry in the series will be given away for free next week on the Epic Games Store.

Making the announcement, Techland revealed via a press release that the Enhanced Edition of 2015’s open-world zombie game Dying Light will be made available for free to all those with an Epic Games account next week from the 6th of April until the 13th. Of course, as long as you add the game to your library during this period, it will remain available to you indefinitely.

For the uninitiated, the Enhanced Edition of Dying Light was released one year after the game’s initial launch and includes a whole host of improvements alongside new content – namely ‘The Following’ expansion; an additional game mode; two extra quarantine zones; and two bundles with additional missions, exclusive items and more.

Having sold over 20 million copies, it is more likely than not that you have already played this highly-successful and well-regarded game. If you have yet to try this title however, then being able to do so for the low price of ‘free’ is certainly exciting.

Dying Light: Enhanced Edition will be available to add to your Epic Games Store library from the 6th of April until the 13th (alongside the fast-paced pirate PvP game ‘Blazing Sails’).
