Death Stranding is free on the Epic Games Store

Each week, those with an Epic Games account are able to get their hands on between 1-3 games made available to all for free. This week, only one game is on offer – but it is a doozy, with Hideo Kojima’s open-world ‘strand-type’ game Death Stranding now available.

Available to add to your library right now (and will remain so until 25th of May at 4pm UK time), Death Stranding is a wholly unique and immersive open world stealth-action title from the mind of Hideo Kojima. First released in 2019 for PlayStation 4 exclusively, Death Stranding was later brought over to PC.

Unfortunately, the edition being offered is the base version of the game, and not the more recently released Director’s Cut. Still, the base title is excellent without the added content and so if you have not yet given the game a try, now is as good a time as any.

This isn’t the first time that Death Stranding has been offered by Epic Games, with the title having been given away last year during December. That said, at the time, the title was only available to claim for a single day, meaning those who did not snag it the first time round have plenty of opportunities to do so now.

Death Stranding is available to add to your Epic Games library for free until 4pm on the 25th of May, at which point it will be replaced by an as-of-yet-unknown title.
