ARK: Survival Ascended gets first in-game screenshot ahead of launch

Back in January Studio Wildcard revealed that the team is working on a remaster of ARK: Survival Evolved. Dubbed ARK: Survival Ascended, the Unreal Engine 5 remaster was originally planned to launch in August. This was then delayed to October. While we still have yet to get a concrete release date, ARK: Survival Ascended has had its certification builds submitted – meaning its arrival is imminent.

Taking to Twitter to offer an update on the game, the official ARK: Survival Evolved page said “Smile! ASA certification builds have been submitted. Hang in there! We can't wait for you guys to get your hands on ARK: Survival Ascended!”

Alongside this, we have gotten our first look at the improvements coming with this UE5 remaster. While just a single in-game screenshot, the details on the featured dinosaur as well as the scene’s lighting appear significantly more realistic and marks a massive improvement over the original ARK: Survival Evolved – assuming the whole game matches the quality of the screenshot.

While we will not have to wait long to get our hands on this remaster, ARK: Survival Ascended has yet to get a concrete release date – despite still seemingly arriving this month. Though there has been some controversy surrounding the remaster’s price, if the quality of improvements are as advertised then it might just be worth it.
