PCSpecialist Warp Nova R Prebuilt Review (7800X3D + 4070 Super)

The Warp Nova R desktop is described as a system that has a focus on design and aesthetics and I feel that PCSpecialist have delivered on this to a certain extent.

The Corsair QX120 fans found on both the radiator as part of the H110i iCUE Link AIO and installed as additional case fans look excellent. They have some of the best RGB implementation I've ever seen on any fan and are able to run Corsair's ‘Time Warp' lighting mode, which uses synchronised RGB to give the appearance of the fans either being ‘frozen in time' or that they're spinning much slower than that actually are.

The Corsair 2500X case is sleek and well made, although rather chunky for a micro ATX enclosure. It's a modern and minimal looking case which has enough room for future upgrades to be carried out with relative ease.

The system memory, while adequate with 32GB capacity and running at 6000MT/s, disappointed as it lacks RGB. After all, this is a system focused on the aesthetics, so it would have made more sense.

In a similar vein, we would have liked to see custom PSU cables and another Corsair RGB fan used in the bottom of the case to really bring the looks together. It's the little details that really give a system that ‘wow' factor and these areas of the Warp Nova R do leave a little to be desired.

Overall, the system performed as we would have expected when taking the specs in to consideration. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D did fall slightly short of the performance we've seen from this processor in the past, but this may be due to the substantially increased ambient temperatures we had in the UK while the review was being put together.

You can purchase the Warp Nova R desktop directly from PCSpecialist for £1999 HERE.

Pros:

  • Corsair iCUE Link cooling.
  • Decent 1440p gaming performance.
  • Fair price for a prebuilt with this specification.

Cons:

  • DDR5 memory lacks RGB lighting.
  • Standard PSU cables – braided or even RGB extensions would have been preferred.
  • PCSpecialist 120mm fan installed in the bottom of the case looks out of place when compared to the Corsair offerings found everywhere else.

KitGuru says: The Warp Nova R is a good looking system. With a few finishing touches, it could be a great looking system.
