PCSpecialist Nebula Pro R Review (Ultra 7 265K + 4070 Ti Super)

The Nebula Pro R prebuilt desktop is undoubtedly going to divide opinion. The issues with Intel's latest Arrow Lake processors are well documented across the internet. That said, the system made it through our benchmarks and tests without throwing up many issues,  with the exception of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 – starting the game results consistently in a Windows stop error and the system rebooting. Aside from that, there was nothing that stopped us from reviewing this prebuilt gaming PC in the same fashion as we usually do.

With that being said, the system performed well and landed about where we'd expect it to on the various charts shown throughout the review. While we haven't seen the generational gains we'd have liked to, that's obvious down to Intel rather than PCSpecialist.

Overall the system is well built and has been put together with care. Cable management is very good, with plenty of zip ties being used to keep the myriad of wires in check behind the motherboard tray.

Gaming performance at 1440p is solid, which is to be expected from the RTX 4070 Ti Super GPU – moving up to 4K resolution at maximum settings did prove a little too demanding at times, but performance could be improved with some minor graphics settings tweaks in the latest titles.

Design-wise the system is well balanced, with black components being used throughout the build. The extra Corsair RS120 case fans being the same make and model as the fans found on the CPU cooler was nice to see – we've mismatched system fans in prebuilt systems before and they can get annoying rather quickly.

System storage disappointed slightly – While the Samsung 990 Pro M.2 SSD is more than fast enough to handle gaming and everyday use – the 1TB capacity is not enough for a gaming machine in 2024, with game install sizes now regularly exceeding 150GB+.

Finally, pricing is very fair. A similar system would cost roughly £50 less than the £2099 price tag set by PC Specialist – this is without taking an operating system license and the warranty in to account.

You can purchase the Nebula Pro R for £2099 from PC Specialist HERE.

Pros:

  • Well built with tidy cable management.
  • Very fair pricing.
  • 9 Corsair RS120 fans (including 3 on the AIO radiator).
  • Decent 1440P gaming performance.

Cons:

  • Arrow Lake architecture is still in its infancy and has issues.
  • Only 1TB storage capacity.
  • May be outperformed by similarly priced AMD based systems.

KitGuru says: The overall package on offer from PC Specialist in the Nebula Pro R is good, however, with Arrow Lake having issues in its infancy it may be worth waiting a while until the new architecture is more stable.
