AWD-IT Erebus Prebuilt System Review (4070 Super)

CPU package power consumption results highlight the great efficiency of the Ryzen 7 7700x, with the processor using just 78w during a sustained gaming test in Cyberpunk 2077.

With out of the box bios setting and configuration, the processor did reach a concerning 95 degrees when running through a Cinebench benchmark, although temperatures when idle and gaming were much better managed by the Corsair iCUE Link H150i CPU cooler.

GPU temperatures when gaming were respectable, with the highest recorded reading being the hotspot sensor at 84 degrees during a 30min sustained test in Cyberpunk 2077.

System noise peaked at 45 decibels during a Cinebench R23 multi core benchmark. The Erebus has a pretty aggressive fan curve by default – which could be tamed further with some tweaking. Although, the levels of fan ‘ramp up' may suit the warm temperatures we've been experiencing in the UK over recent weeks.

Total system power when measured at the power socket reached a peak of 402 watts when gaming in Cyberpunk 2077, while reaching a more conservative 235 watts when only stressing the CPU in Cinebench R23 multi core. When idle, the Erebus uses just 105 watts of total system power.
