Asus announces Gold Rush competition

If you're one of those strange competition entrants, that likes to spend a lot of money to win comparatively priced prizes, then Asus' Gold Rush competition might just be for you. Asus wants you to build a custom PC, using an Asus 8 series “gold” motherboard and then have it judged by a team of panellists and the community.

The one with the most votes at the end of the competition, will receive an X79 deluxe motherboard, a GTX 770 GPU and an Intel Core i7 CPU. Those hitting second place will get a MX279H display, along with a VivoPC and VivoMouse, whilst third place will take home a GTX 770 GPU.

Some nice prizes for sure, but you'll need to make quite an impression to win over the judges and the voting public. Points will be awarded for creativity, colour coordination, neatness and most importantly, the promotion of the colour gold and the Asus Gold line of products – which if of course, what Asus is getting out of this.

The competition will run from now until 11th November, with voting taking place in the following few weeks. In order to enter, get your custom rig built and send pictures to Asus at the official competition page. The earlier you get it in, the better, as there will be some extra daily prizes being given out in the form of peripherals like headsets.

For full rules, see the competition page.

KitGuru Says: This is an expensive competition to enter, but the prizes for the top three places are pretty nice. Anyone considering taking part?
