Asus takes over NUC from Intel

We learned at the start of the summer that Intel's NUC products had been discontinued. Soon after, a non-exclusive partnership between Asus and Intel was established to ensure the continuation of the NUC brand. The deal has since been finalised, allowing Asus to formally launch its own NUC products.

Asus has now officially launched its first NUC products, delivering compact mini PCs based on Intel's 10th to 13th-generation processors. As seen by the marketing material, these are identical to Intel's NUC systems, which makes sense considering the arrangement between the two included a portion of Intel's inventory. However, the relationship does not end with NUCs, as numerous Intel officials have travelled to Asus to lead the new business unit devoted to these mini-PCs.

On a daily basis, Asus is now in charge of the distribution of NUC devices. However, as the deal is non-exclusive, we may see other manufacturers making their own NUC designs in the future too.

Asus will continue to support currently available NUC products and should release newly updated models in the future once new Intel processors arrive.
