Chillblast Fusion Raptor Gaming PC Review

SSD Performance

Chillblast utilises Samsung's RAPID mode (which utilises the system memory as ultra-fast cache), enabling the 850 EVO SSD to reach lightning sequential speeds. Take these results with a hint of caution, however, as the read/write performance can vary heavily depending on the workload and whether the fast RAM cache can be utilised.

Raw read/write speeds of the 850 EVO (without RAPID mode enabled) are still in the realms of the fastest SSDs on the market.

HDD Performance

Seagate's 2TB ST2000DM001 HDD musters up more than 200MBps in sequential read and write tasks. That allows for fast interpretation of large files, and could be useful for gamers who need a zippy hard drive to record their High-Def footage.

USB 3.0

We tested USB 3.0 performance using the Kingston HyperX 3K SSD connected to a SATA 6Gb/s to USB 3.0 adapter powered by an ASMedia ASM1053 controller.

USB 3.0 speed is as we would expect from a system with UASP activated. Users who transfer large amounts of media regularly will rejoice at the USB 3.0 read/write speed with our Kingston HyperX 3K SSD.
