Rise of the Tomb Raider is a third-person action-adventure game that features similar gameplay found in 2013’s Tomb Raider. Players control Lara Croft through various environments, battling enemies, and completing puzzle platforming sections, while using improvised weapons and gadgets in order to progress through the story. It uses a Direct X 12 capable engine.
We test using the DX12 API, the ‘very high' IQ preset and 2x SSAA.
Only 1080p performance is comfortably smooth here, though a few IQ tweaks would easily bump-up the 1440p frame rates. 4K is simply not playable.
The X370 mobo would have been a good choice if the PSU could handle crossfire. The CPU is also a bit on the edge for crossfire – a 1600 or 1600X would have cut it imo. Then again, those two things would have driven up the price. I have to agree that a B350 mobo would have been the best choice.
