Cyberpower Infinity X66 GTX Gaming PC review

Dishonored 2 is a first-person action-adventure stealth game that gives players the choice of assuming the role of returning protagonist, Corvo Attano or the newly playable Empress Emily Kaldwin. Both characters are tasked with revenge against usurpers of the thrown, choosing to don or forgo the powers that can be bestowed upon them by the mysterious Outsider.

There are many ways to approach the level-based missions, in which players may choose to be passive or use lethal force, and even ignore the stealth aspect entirely if they wish.

We test Dishonored 2 using maximum settings with its “Ultra” preset. While V-Sync can be turned off, the frame limiter scales up to a maximum of 120, rather than the expected ‘unlimited' that many PC gamers have become accustomed to. Of course, this is more than enough to test the Infinity X66 GTX, so let's get cracking. For this test, I used the tutorial and the first level.

While Dishonored 2 originally lacked optimisation on its PC version, Arkane Studios has improved the title immensely since release, leading to sturdy, smooth performance at 1080p.

As was the case with previous titles tested on this system, 1440p falls just short of the 60fps standard, requiring the user to turn down the settings a touch to break that barrier.

While Dishonored 2 initially struggled to keep the setting of 4K resolution, once it did, it interestingly didn't differ from the performance of 1440p, even sporting similar frame rates. This might be one title that owners of the Infinity X66 GTX can enjoy at 4K resolution with smooth 60fps, provided they are willing to drop to a slightly lower preset.
