As mentioned earlier in the review, thermal performance does vary quite dramatically depending what mode is chosen. I find the Performance mode just runs far too hot for gaming and I would not want to see my system regularly pegged at over 100C. The Normal mode does run a bit slower for CPU workloads, but the difference is negligible for gaming, and it runs significantly cooler too.
Regardless of mode used, the GPU doe stay nice and cool, with the GPU metric at 68C and the hot spot at 79C.
Noise levels are on the louder side, but aren't overly intrusive – it's similar to a gaming laptop. A full-size desktop could be configured to be significantly quieter, especially as the hardware in the Megamini G1 is relatively low-power, but that is the compromise for small form-factor.
Total system power draw for the Megamini G1 is obviously higher in the Performance mode, hitting 255W while gaming, so about a 40W increase over the normal mode.
